The environmental agency with the federal government has been working with tourists and bordering to the care and preservation and of wild fauna and flora. Aiming for greater agility at work, the review offers the latest equipment such as GPS (allows the mapping of deforested areas, permanent reserves and location of complaints); Globastar (satellite phone that delivers speed and cost reduction processes answering the complaints), Night Vision Binoculars (identifies accurately the night actions, mainly protecting the fauna); decibel meter (allows the monitoring of noise above the level allowed by law), Sonar (allows viewing of schools, to protect fish process of spawning), lep top (for searches via internet and application of administrative procedures with greater data precision), among other equipment.
Moreover, they are held blitz and to assess the quality of emissions by motor vehicles with the support of Forestry Battalion.

The Monitoring Campaign of Araguaia has a joint action of several environmental agencies. This is the Integrated Environmental Monitoring, unified result of the work of the Environmental Agency of Goiás, IBAMA-Goiás, State Environmental Police (Dema), Forestry Battalion and Military Police.
The surveillance operation will curb hunting, fishing, intensifying the surveillance of polluting activities, deforestation, and any other type of aggression to the environment. For the monitoring work on the Araguaia season will be used 09 field teams, who will work in the following locations:
- Santa Fé Aruanã (water)
- Rio Tesouras
- Luis Alves
- Rio Verdinho
- Serra da Mesa
- Pirarucu (boat)
- Aruanã (Land)
All the work of supervising of the Environment Agency will mobilize 64 organ ispectors, and will have the support of 03 supervisors. The period of field work during the season will take place between 01 and 31 July this year. The Environment Agency will provide 04 motorboats, 11 canoes with 11 engines, 01 boat ("pirarucu"), 19 GPS, 04 night-vision binoculars, and 08 pickups with Global Star. The audit will be traveling, and also mount checkpoints on highways that provide access to Araguaia. Throughout the month of July, will also be intensified surveillance in Serra da Mesa, in Lago de Corumbá, and Lagoa de Cana-brava.
The monitoring of water quality in the Rio Araguaia main goal is to assess and ensure water quality, and environmental conditions for survival of the species from the region by monitoring via laboratory analysis. The work of collecting samples and laboratory tests, started in the 1st half of June (after the rainy season). The work will be developed and extended to the 1st half of October (rainy season), when data and information will be computed in a final technical report. All laboratory tests are performed by the Department of Environmental Monitoring of the Environment Agency.
The universe included with the work of monitoring has large dimensions, however, more directly, are benefited the residents and inhabitants of the Araguaia River Basin and users (tourists) and frequent any remaining natural resources of the region.
The work proposal to be developed in July, the peak tourist season, is to carry out sampling, analysis of water, dissemination of results and guidance to tourists daily, among the various services and activities provided to the population.
The work teams are composed of eight (8) technicians / trainees related areas: Biology, Pharmacy - Biochemistry, Chemistry Technologist Environmental Sanitation and others.
The program of monitoring ARAGUAIA, includes from the region of its sources in the city of miners - GO, till Luiz Alves, with a total of fifteen (15) sampling sites, 25 (twenty five) parameters on average, with physical- chemical and bacteriological analysis held at the central laboratory - Goiânia. Will also be made five (05) samples per year as established by CONAMA Resolution 020/86, for a total of 1,875 (One thousand eight hundred and seventy-five) results.
Parallel to the program will be monitored eleven (11) fixed points during the campaign in July / August, generating a number of eleven (11) daily collects , when they will be analyzed sixteen (16) parameters, for a total of 176 (one hundred and seventy six) results / day and 5456 (five thousand four hundred fifty-six) results for the entire campaign in July / August, taking an average of 31 days worked.
Thus, we conclude that in the ARAGUAIA programming will be obtained a total of 7331 (seven thousand three hundred thirty-one) results / analyzes / obtained in the Araguaia River basin.
We emphasize that the data and information obtained, will encourage research and scientific studies to be undertaken by the Environment Agency and other institutions concerned.
Specifically in the period of greatest flow of tourists (July / August) in major cities in the region, will be installed in continuity with previous years and so improved this season, a collection system and evaluation (analysis) of the field parameters of direct interest for users and tourists who attend the region sampled, this procedure will provide the measurement and rapid knowledge of water quality and its physical properties, while they serve to record the influence of the tourists themselves in the focus area.
The form of disclosure and access of stakeholders to the results, as in previous years, may be through newsletters to be disseminated and other media available in the local / county. Beyond these measures, continues the release plaque in the main river access points.
